One support address your whole team can answer
Everyone you invite sees the same inbox. Give each conversation to one person, so no one answers twice.
What it does
Three things you get, in plain words.
Everyone sees the same mail
Invite teammates and give each one a role. Mail sent to support@ shows up for the whole team in one list.
One owner for each conversation
Assign a conversation to a teammate. Close it when it is done, or snooze it and it comes back when you want it.
Replies stay in the thread
Answer from the inbox and the reply goes out as support@. The customer sees one conversation in Gmail or Outlook.
Set it up once, then answer mail
Create an inbox such as support@, invite your team, and open the Inbox page in the dashboard. The same steps are available through the API.

Example: a conversation in the support@ inbox
Dana Wudana@example.com
My reset link expired. Can you send a new one?
Supportsupport@acme.com
Sent. It works for the next hour.
Both messages sit in one thread, here and in Gmail.
Who it is for
Pick the page closest to what you are building.
- Small teams with a support addressAnswer support@ on your own domain without a separate mailbox for each person.
- Software companiesSupport, billing and noreply in one place, next to the email your app sends.
- AgenciesA separate project for each client, with a team member given only the projects they need.
Limits, honestly
What it does not do, so you can decide before you start.
- There are no labels, folders or drafts. A conversation is open, closed or snoozed.
- There are no internal notes. Everything you write in a conversation is a reply to the customer.
- There are no canned replies, ticket numbers or response time targets.
- There is no mobile app. The inbox works in a phone browser, and you can also use any mail app over IMAP.
- Until you verify your own domain, an address on mailbay.email can only email people in your workspace. Customers can still write to you.
- Each inbox can copy its mail to up to 10 addresses, and each address must confirm first.
Questions
What is a shared inbox?
It is one email address, such as support@yourcompany.com, that several people read and answer. Each conversation can be given to one person so that two people do not reply to the same customer.
Can my team use our own domain?
Yes. Add your domain, publish the records we show you, and create support@ on it. Every workspace also has a free mailbay.email address to try it first, with no setup.
Who can see and answer mail?
Owners and admins can see everything. Other teammates get a role for each project. Support can read and reply, Viewer can only read, Developer can also work with sending and keys, and Admin manages the project.
Does the mail I receive use up my sending limit?
No. Received mail does not count against the emails you can send. Your replies count as sent emails.
Can I also get the mail in my own mail app?
Yes. An inbox can copy each message to your personal address, and it can also be opened in apps such as Apple Mail with IMAP.
